The TOMTOM universe - a world filled with humor and poetry, with subtle wit and understated irony, sometimes odd or even bizarre, sometimes mercilessly romantic. Inventor and designer of TOMTOM's world is the Austrian artist Thomas Kostron, who is also sole license holder. He created the character TOMTOM in 1990. First it was published on a series of greeting cards in Austria and Germany. Since then more than 20 million postcards have been sold worldwide. In Korea TOMTOM has already become a cult brand. The broad range of products extends from an SMS icon to a sushi set. TOMTOM is a "one size fits all" marketing opportunity: He tickles the funny bones of kids, goes to the head of the class with students, accompanies yuppies ascending the corporate mountain and exercises his charm also with the gray-haired set. Liking TOMTOM is not a question of age, sex, job or income. It's a brand which isn't limited to specific target groups and therefore provides limitless market opportunities.
